It’s not the get rich quick scheme some people say it is
It’s getting to the point where everywhere I look, there's a new way to make money.
Some new business model that is flourishing and makes anyone rich in 30 days. YouTube might be one of the biggest offenders when it comes to these schemes.
The people who push the idea are persuasive at times. They understand how to sell a certain idea to people and how to play on their emotions in a negative way.
Copywriting and content marketing are some of the hotter get-rich-quick ideas. Dan Lok is one that instantly comes to mind. Google “Dan Lok legit” and you will see all the negative reviews.
I listened to him for years before I realized he was selling a fake dream. I almost bought his programs and I am so glad I didn’t. He pushes the idea of copywriting as this magic formula anyone can use to get rich.
What I’ve found so far on my journey is that writing is a lot of work. I know, what a surprise. Contrary to popular belief, not everyone is well equipped to be a writer in any form, and even less will make a dime.
This isn’t enough to steer me from the path. I still have the same goal of writing every day in 2022.
I’ve realized that making money from writing is hard. Much harder than working at a normal job and getting a paycheck weekly. You can’t just take a course online and become the most talented writer in the world.
In a way, I am glad it’s difficult. It means writing is an actual skill that can be used in the real world to succeed.
I remember many people telling me my English is useless. That I should have gone into the STEM field and got a “real job.”
They may have been half right. I don’t use my degree at all even though I got it over a year ago. However, you don’t need a degree to succeed in writing. I view it as a solid base for the skill and I’m still glad I got it.
As I get more skilled, I hope to become more successful. By the end of the year, I’ll be light years ahead of where I started. 2022 may be one of my best years ever, and I am looking forward to doing the work.
