Here’s how you know it’s time

There is a time to quit.

There comes a time when you know you should walk away, but for whatever reason, you don’t.

Don’t listen to the self-help gurus telling you you should never quit and if you give up you’re a loser.

That isn’t true.

Here are some signs it’s time to quit.

You Don’t See The Finishline

If you start working on something, chances are you have a goal in mind.

Or at least you know some things you would like to accomplish one day. You have a vision for the way you would like things to go.

You know it’s time to quit when you no longer see the vision you once had.

If you can’t see the end goal in your mind, you need to walk away and stop wasting time.

It’s something only you can answer. Can you yourself accomplish what you want? Or are you just not invested anymore?

If you don’t know the answer, that also means it’s time to walk away.

You Keep Looking At The Clock

If you are working on your “passion” or side hustle and keep looking at the clock, it’s time to walk away.

I used to play basketball religiously and wanted nothing more than to play in college.

I remember being in the gym for a 5 AM workout on a Sunday and remember looking at the clock at least three or four times in the same hour.

I had never done this before.

Usually, time seemed to fly by and I never looked at the clock until the workout had ended.

I realized later in life that this was a sign for me to leave.

You spend too much of your time not doing what you want already, make sure your limited personal time is spent doing something you enjoy.

The Enjoyment Fades

You don’t need to be locked in every day.

With that being said, if you find yourself no longer enjoying what you’re doing, it’s time to quit.

A big reason for this is if you only got involved for the money.

You might be able to make it work in the short term, but you will hate your life. you won’t be able to sustain it for the long term and you will crash and burn.

Don’t do anything solely for the money.

You Miss Other Obligations Because Of It

This is unhealthy.

this could also relate to a negative habit like drinking to smoking or a side hustle that you started.

If it gets to the point where you are blowing off your other obligations to sink more time into the activity, it’s time to walk away.

Even if it’s a side hustle, if you start consistently avoiding your wife or kids to work on it, you need to stop.

This will only end in misery for everyone involved if you let it go for too long.

You Aren’t Lazy For Quitting

When you stop doing something, especially if you told everyone you were doing it, people will label you.

They’ll call you lazy and ask all kinds of questions as to why you are quitting.

They will try to shame you and make you feel bad for walking away from what was once a goal.

Don’t let these people get to you.

If you know you are walking away for the right reasons, f*ck them.

What they say and think doesn't matter.

All that matters is you moved on and are working toward a new goal. One that more closely aligns with who you are and what you want.

Quit with your head held high.

Don’t keep doing something for the sake of others.

This is your life. Own it.
