Emotions Are Great To Get You Moving But Don’t Guide You

People make decisions based on emotions, not logic

Most people make their decisions based solely on their emotions.

Instead of taking a day to think it over, we make decisions on impulse and decide right there on the spot.

As we know, this does not work for many reasons.

When we are emotional, we really make the best decision.

This is point number one.

Only decide on something after serious thought and consideration. Before making any big decision, take time to come to a conclusion.

They say in the personal finance world that before you make a big decision, you should wait 24 hours.

Why is this?

The waiting time will allow you to separate yourself emotionally from the decision.

It will allow you to use logic and explain the reasons as to why a decision needs to be made.

You will be able to come up with concrete reasons as to why you are making a decision.

If you don’t take this time, you will be left to explain your actions solely based on emotion. This will more often than not lead you down the wrong path.

The second point is that you need to think about the future in your decision-making.

Don’t make decisions based on what will satisfy you at the moment.

If you chose to do so, you will never get ahead in life.

You will eat junk food, procrastinate like no other, and never get any work done.

By thinking of the future, people are able to make the tough decision now that will lead them to success in the future.

It’s these decisions that will lead to success.

The further ahead a person can think into the future, the more successful they will be.

If you base 100% of your decisions on the present, you will never progress in life.

That’s the way of the world.

Use logic as much as possible.

You should know that most people make their decisions based on emotion. As a result, you should aim to do the exact opposite.

If the average person does one thing and you want to be better than average, you should do the opposite.

Keep these points in mind next time you have a decision to make.
