Are you glad that your mattress doesn’t have fiberglass in it and that you can sleep with please of mind?
If you said yes to these questions, you must stay far away from Zinus and their mattresses.
Let me tell you my story.
I bought my Zinus mattress in July of 2019. I loved every part of it. It had memory foam, was comfortable, and it was cheap. Everything was great until recently.
I just moved into a new apartment in December. During the move, the matress cover that came with it ripped. It was also dirty and needed to be replaced.
So, I decided to simply rip the cover off.
Big Mistake. Huge.
the mattress is made with “62% glass fibers.” One mom’s kids suffered medical conditions after the shards of glass covered their entire bodies and clothes. It can cause itching and allergic reactions which can be life-threatening.
All of this started when she removed the cover.
Once the cover is removed, the glass fibers become airborne and go all over. They are covering my entire apartment right now. It’s all over my clothes, furniture, bed, and everything else.
There is a class-action lawsuit against Zinus because of this. I put in a claim for myself today. I have already spent $300+ on cleaning supplies and new clothes.
I spent my entire day scouring the internet for tips and tricks to get rid of fiberglass. I soaked my clothes in a tub filled with vinegar. I scrubbed them for a solid hour. I then put them in the washer and dryer with the maximum amount of heat.
All of this for nothing.
The shards are still all over. All of that money and time wasted.
So, in addition to buying all the cleaning supplies, I now need to buy new furniture and all new clothes. I don’t have a single article of clothing that is not covered in fiberglass.
I didn’t even know what the cause of my itching and sharp pains was until today. I saw a TikTok of a woman explaining her situation and how she discovered it was her mattress.
The shards were spreading all over for months before I realized that the mattress was leaking fiberglass. What a shit show.
Let this be a word of warning for you.
DO NOT BUY ZINUS.
You’ll be sorry for a long time after if you do. I can’t believe any company would make a mattress for people that is mostly glass fibers. They need to be held accountable.
If you have a mattress and have suffered damages or lost property, please sign your name as part of the class-action lawsuit. They need to pay for their actions.
