Being Controversial Brings Business

Business is always a good thing

Attention can mean both good and bad.

Oftentimes, we use it in a negative way. Maybe we tell someone all they are focusing on is getting attention and being in the spotlight all the time.

Sometimes, attention is a good thing and can be well deserved. For instance, winning the Nobel Prize after creating a groundbreaking new miracle drug. You get the picture.

For business, unless it’s something really bad, almost all attention is good. If your business is being talked about by enough people, some people will lie, about what you do and follow you.

Even if your opinion is polarizing and is the exact opposite of what many preach today, it doesn't matter. There will always be people who try to cut you down and tell you why you’re wrong.

If you can make people pick sides, you will no doubt have enemies. However, you will also have fans. The negative people will more often than not be louder than your supporters.

Still, your supporters are there. They are simply supporting in silence.

By being controversial on a certain topic, you will push people away from you. This is good. If they are pushed away by what you say, they weren’t your intended recipients anyway.

You don’t want them to be a part of your business or future. What you want is people who already like you and are now more invested in you since you took a stance on a popular opinion.

It’s addition by subtraction.
