This situation could have ended much worse

I’m not a big fan of TikTok. Actually, I don’t really use any social media.

While more people may choose to share more about themselves with the world today than ever before, I value my privacy.

This story about Ava Majury makes me never want to go on any social media platform ever again.

She is 15 years old and has millions of followers on TikTok. This is weird to me by itself. Why does a 15-year-old girl have so many followers? Her content seems innocent, but it doesn’t make sense.

I don’t know the answer to this question. However, I do know that with all of that attention bad things can happen. She eventually started to be stalked online by an 18-year-old man.

He sent her hundred and hundreds of messages. Some she answered, some she didn’t. The conversation eventually lead to him asking her to buy one of the photos she had already posted to social media.

Ava brought it up to her parents.

This is where things get crazy.

The parents then allowed her to sell one of the photos of herself to this freak. Now, she was fully clothed and it was already posted, but this is all still very weird.

Of course, now that the door was open, he asked for more pictures. This time he wanted explicit pictures. Her parents said no.

What does this freak do? He gets in touch with Ava’s “friends” online and buys her address from one of the friends. Real nice.

He then shows up at the family's front door with a shotgun. He blows the door down and enters the house. Thank God the father had a weapon inside and was able to kill the intruder.

Everyone is praising the father as a hero. While we are all glad that he did what he did, why would you allow your daughter to sell him pictures in the first place?

I would not allow my daughter to sell pictures of herself to anyone online. As a matter of fact, if I have kids, they aren’t getting social media until they are 18. I don’t think it’s a healthy habit and there is enough screen time as is.

Ava Majury is still online and posting content today. I guess no one was that fazed by it. I understand she needs to live her life, but I think this kind of attention at such a young age is unhealthy.

Unfortunately, there are a lot of bad people out there wanting to do harm. Make sure your family and kids are protected from online predators.
