I have some issues with it
I just moved out on my own recently, so I am still new to grocery shopping on my own.
But I am already not a fan of it.
My main problem with it is that there are always so many people every time I go. People are literally bumping their carts into one another all the time. I feel like I need to have my head on a swivel.
It’s to the point where they need to consider adding stoplights at the end of aisles. Turn signals on shopping carts would also be a helpful touch.
I wish I could say I am joking, but I’m not. Some aisles are worse than others though. The produce aisle usually isn’t too bad. There are people in here too but it’s not shoulder to shoulder.
The aisles are also usually wider than the other ones. The fewer people and wider aisles make shopping much more pleasant for me.
The snack aisle on the other hand is always packed. This isn’t a surprise.
All of this becomes worse the day before a large storm. Today is that day. 5 pm at Market Basket before a snowstorm looks like Times Square at its peak. Not fun at all.
And then of course they only have three registers open at a time. Then one of them breaks down, which leaves two registers. Lines are wrapped around the entire store with people trying to check out.
I should probably stop complaining now. Maybe I’ll start shopping early in the day or late at night.
Or maybe I’ll just say f*ck it and start doing my grocery shopping online. It is 2022 after all.
That’s all for now. Have a good weekend.
